Andrew J. Suchy, 92 of North Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 in the Grand Strand Memorial Hospital, Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was born on October 17, 1924 in North Charleroi, the son of the late Andrew and Susan Sholtis Suchy. Andy was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from Fox Grocery Wetterau in 1986. Andy was a member of the Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church in Charleroi; the Blessed Basil Hopko Mission Church in Conway, SC; the Little River American Legion Post #186; and the North Charleroi Slavic Citizens Club. Andy is survived by his son Robert Suchy and his wife Sandy of North Myrtle Beach, SC; granddaughter Joelle Suchy, and sister Helen Zupan. In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor Lehew Suchy and three sisters Anne Yakich, Irene Kirpensky, and Mary Berkich. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave, Charleroi. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 am in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Twp. A Paratas service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Andy’s name to the Washington County Humane Society, 1527 PA-136, Eighty Four, PA, 15330.
