Edna Hast Cole, 83, of Fallowfield Township passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 6, 2017. She was born July 13, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Jeanne and Donald Hast. She was a member of Speers United Methodist Church and was retired from Herr’s Foods Inc. Edna loved baking, canning, quilting, puzzles and playing cards. People loved her chocolate chip cookies. She always thought of others before herself. She was a mother to many and a friend to all. “Eddie” is survived by a son, Bob Cole and wife, Kathleen, of Peters Township; daughters Peggy Baker and husband, Barry, of Fallowfield Township, Patti Kavka and husband, John, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Sandy Green and husband, Ricky, of Rostraver Township; a sister, Doris McNary of Upper St. Clair; nine grandchildren, Justin (Devaki) Baker, Kate (Derek) DiPiazza, Danny Kavka, Becky (Bobby) Navarre, Adam Kavka, Patrick (Christina) and Shannon Cole and Mike and Matt Green; two great-grandsons, Luca and Nico Baker; also Norman Monack of Lancaster, who was like a son to her. Edna was preceded in death by Bob, her husband of 62 years; a grandson, Bobby Cole; a great-grandson, Aiden; a brother, Pete Hast; and two sisters, Jeanne Clark and Tip Studt. A memorial visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Speers United Methodist Church, 810 Jane St., Speers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Speers United Methodist Church.
