Gary B. Harper, 70, of Fallowfield Township, passed away peacefully August 14, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born October 9, 1946, in Monongahela, unto the late Howard and Rebecca Harper.  He graduated from Charleroi High School in the class of 1965.  Gary lived an admirable life, composed of honor and hard work, serving in the U.S. Army and working with heavy equipment. Not a machine existed that he could not operate with expertise. He married his high-school sweetheart, Sharon, with whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage on December 16. Gary cared greatly about his family, which undoubtedly included his beautiful German shepherds. He is survived by his children: daughter, Tonya Kepich and husband, Jamie, of Fallowfield Township; and his son, Gary B. Harper, Jr. and wife, Laura, of Gibsonia. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jayme Lee and Jace Kepich, of Fallowfield Township; Andi and Aiden Harper, of Gibsonia; and Destinee Hawk, of Irwin. He will also be missed by his siblings: brother, Alan Harper and his wife, Rosemarie, of Rockville, Maryland; and brother, Todd Harper and his wife, Christie, of Derwood, Maryland. He is also survived by great-granddaughter Amelia Hawk, several nieces and nephews, and two special cousins: Sheik and Darrell Shannon. Friends will be received Wednesday from 4 to 8p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi.
