George C. Tedrow Jr. “Bud”, 62, of Fallowfield Township, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017. Born Sept. 28, 1955, in Charleroi, he was the son of E. Joan Tedrow and the Late George C. Tedrow Sr. His maternal grandparents were the late Louise and Carl Zimmerman and his paternal grandparents were Pearl and John Tedrow. George retired from The State Correctional Institution Fayette.  He was a Sergeant in the Army of the 429th Engineering Co. George worked as a crane operator at Clairton Works for 14 years before going to California University and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. George was a Funeral Director at Duca’s Funeral Homes in Westmont, Pa., and Johnstown, Pa., and Deaner Funeral Homes in Stoystown, Pa., Hooversville, Pa., and Berlin, Pa. George graduated from the Charleroi Area High School in 1973. George was a Member of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi serving as Deacon. He was the past president of the Lithuanian Club “Four Aces”, the Blue Knights, American Legion, French Club in North Charleroi, held an office in the Charleroi Fire Department, coached Little League Baseball with his brother John for many years, and was treasurer of the Yukon Camp where George enjoyed going hunting with his dad, his sons, grandson and brothers. George was a man of many talents, including carpentry. Building his three-car garage, Buds Beach and the Happy Room at his home in Fallowfield Township. George fought courageously against his cancer, defying all odds. When the popcorn girl met the ticket taker/usher at the State Theatre in Charleroi, a special union was formed. George is survived by his wife, Elizabeth A. Hickman; daughter, Staci L. (Darren) Macik of Charleroi; two sons, George C. ( Mandy) Tedrow III of Johnstown, and TSgt E6 James E. (Malorie) Tedrow of Beale AFB, Calif; grandchildren, C. Robbie (Alisha) Baker III, Kaitlin E. Lesneski, Isaac, Tessa, Grace Tedrow of Johnstown, Logan, Lucas and Lilia Tedrow of Beale AFB, Calif.; and a great-grandson, Bennett C. Baker of California, Pa. George is also survived by a sister, Candy (Joe) Suarez, of Greensburg; brothers, John (Barbara) Tedrow of Charleroi, Bill (Jackie) Tedrow of Washington, Pa., and Chris (Staci) Tedrow of West Newton. In addition, he is survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8p.m. at SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Charleroi Presbyterian Church, 5th and Lincoln Ave., Charleroi. Those attending the funeral service are being asked to go directly to the church. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
