George H. Watkins, Jr., 43 of Venetia, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016 in West Palm Beach, FL.  He was born February 6, 1973, in Monongahela, the son of George H. Watkins, Sr. and Nadine Davis Baron.  Georgie graduated from Charleroi High School in the class of 1991 and attended the Valley Forge Military Academy.  As a goalkeeper for the Cougars Soccer team, Georgie posted 12 career shutouts and was named all-section in 1989 and 1990.  While attending at the Valley Forge Military Academy playing rugby and soccer, Georgie was chosen as the team’s most valuable player in 1993.  He played for the Dunlevy Redbirds, helping lead them to the Greater Pittsburgh Soccer League title in 2003.  Georgie was inducted into the Charleroi boys’ soccer Hall of Fame.  He was the Cougars soccer head coach from 2001 thru 2010.  Under his guidance the Cougars reached the WPIAL playoffs six times.  He was an avid golfer and an avid Pittsburgh Penguins Fan.  In addition to his mother and step father Nadine Davis Baron and Dr. Scott Baron of Venetia and his father and step mother George H. Watkins, Sr. and Connie Watkins of Charleroi, Georgie is survived by his two daughters Alyssa Watkins of Venetia and Kayla Watkins of Maumee, OH.  Carrie Watkins, mother of their daughters; his sister Bridget Trader and husband Coby of Carroll Township; two nephews Jeffrey Soles and Nathan Trader; Maternal grandfather Harry Davis of Charleroi.  Also survived by aunts and uncles.  Funeral services are private.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.schrock-hogan.com.  Arrangements were entrusted to the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Charleroi.  In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Washington County Food Bank marked for the Charleroi Area School District Harvest Bounty, 909 National Pike West, Brownsville, PA. 15417, or a drug addiction program or your choice.
