Ralph E. Mickey, Sr.

       Stockdale

Ralph E. Mickey, Sr., 87 of Stockdale, passed away, Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in Monongahela Valley Hospital, Carroll Township.  Mr. Mickey was born September 12, 1928 in Vanderbilt, the son of the late Wilbert and Sara Leighliter Mickey.  He was a veteran serving during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 22 both of Charleroi.  Mr. Mickey was retired from NASER Foods.  He is survived by his daughter Sheila Baker and husband James of Monessen and his son Ed Mickey and wife Rondell of Stockdale; two grandsons Zachary and Nicholas Baker.  Also surviving are nieces, nephews and his best friend, the cat Sally.  In addition to his parents Mr. Mickey is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Bucy Mickey, two sisters Thelma Christner and Eleanor Lytle and his brother Bill Mickey.  Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:30a.m., with Pastor Lori Walters officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mon Valley Memorial Park Carroll Township with full military rites.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.schrock-hogan.com.
