Dolores L. Rockidge 97, of Monessen, passed away March 9, 2018, after a brief Illness. She was born Dec. 21, 1920, in Charleroi, the daughter of the late Lillian Anderson Ray and Harry Ray. Dolores was retired from Rego’s Restaurant where she worked for 25 years as a salad maker. She loved dining out with her family and was a familiar fixture at Denny’s in Belle Vernon. Dolores loved all types of music, dancing and a fun-loving spirit that rubbed off on everyone she met. She is survived by her daughters, Carol J. Rutherford, with whom she resided, and Linda (Edward) Gierlach of Brunswick, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Janet Rockidge of North Charleroi; and her sister, Betty Maki of Dunlevy. She is also survived by her grandchildren, William (Sarah) Rutherford, Mandy Lynn (Nicholas) Rapsack, John David Rutherford, Edward (Mary) Gierlach, Meghan (Lance) Leonard, Aryan (Karl) Parsons, Michael (Milan) Smalich, Mitch Rockidge and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, John Rockidge; her son, John Michael Rockidge; her brothers, Harry Ray, Jack Ray; and her sister, Helen Kokkila and her companion, Joseph Zampatti. A small private service was held for the family. The family would like to thank OSPTA Hospice and the Victoria House employees especially Maria and Tammy for all their help and care they gave taking care of Dolores.
