Doris M. Marshall

Doris M. Marshall, 92, formerly of Fallowfield Township passed away peacefully on April 2, 2018 at the Hallsworth House, Monessen, Pa. She was born October 7, 1925 in Monongahela. The daughter of the late Harold F. and Sarah Burns Everett.

Doris was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Charleroi for the past 70 years. Doris grew up in Monongahela and was a graduate of Monongahela High School and a 1946 graduate of Washington School of Nursing. She practiced nursing at the old Monongahela Memorial hospital in New Eagle and the Presbyterian Home in Washington, Pa.

Doris and her husband Ewing moved to Fallowfield Township after marrying in August 1947, where they lived most of their life. But they truly enjoyed the last 13 years when they lived at the Oaks in California, Pa. It gave them the opportunity to meet many wonderful people and cherished the friendships they made. We always referred to Doris as having the gift of gab. We could always find her engaged in conversation whether it be with friends or complete strangers.

The family would like to thank OSPTA Hospice and the employees at Hallsworth House for all their compassion expressed to Doris while she was in their care.

Doris is survived by her two children: daughter, Sandra Lape and husband Paul of Charleroi, son David Marshall and wife, Karen of North Charleroi. Three grand-children; Paula Lape Douyon, Jennifer Lape Sines and Brian D. Marshall and Kim. Seven great-grand-children, Michelle, Katheryn and Trey Douyon, Megan and Jace Sines, and Chase and Hunter Kossar.

In addition to her parents Doris was preceded in death by her husband Ewing Marshall on July 14, 2015.

Friends will be received Wednesday May 2, 2018 beginning at 10:15 AM at the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. 226 Fallowfield Ave. Charleroi, Pa 15022 and a funeral service at 11 AM with Pastor Matthew Stable officiating.
