Edward J. Stack, 87 of Speers Hill, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at his home.  He was born July 20, 1930 in Coal Center, the son of the late Julia Manelies and Joseph Stack.  Mr. Stack served in the United States Navy, a member of Mary, Mother of the Church Parish in Charleroi and the Charleroi American Legion Post 22. Surviving is his wife Norma Stech Stack; his daughter Barbara Grimes and husband Joseph of Mason, OH; his sister Catherine Stack of Charleroi and his two grandchildren Brianna Grimes and Joseph Grimes.  In addition to his parents Mr. Stack was preceded in death by his son James Stack and a brother Joseph Stack. Friends will be received Tuesday from 4 to 6p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi.  Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, at 11a.m.in Mary, Mother of the Church, 7th & Washington Ave., Charleroi,  celebrated by the Rev. Gerald Mikonis.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to UPMC Hillman Cancer Center for pancreatic cancer research.  Checks should be made payable to “University of Pittsburgh” with “pancreatic cancer research” in the memo line, and send to UPMC Cancer Pavilion, Suite 1B, 5150 Centre Ave., Pittsburgh, PA. 15232.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.schrock-hogan.com.
