Eileen D. Protin

Eileen D. Protin, 78, of Charleroi, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018 in Havencrest Nursing Center, Carroll Township. She was born November 17, 1939 in North Charleroi, the daughter of the late James and Kathryn Stopp Dolan. Eileen graduated from Charleroi High School in the class of 1957 and also graduated from Mount Mercy College now Carlow University in Pittsburgh where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She was a member, lectern and Eucharistic Minister at Mary, Mother Church in Charleroi. Eileen was a teacher in the Charleroi Area High School until her retirement in 2002. She is survived by her husband Albert L. Protin, her three daughters Rebecca Protin of Monroeville, Luanne Campana and husband Ron of Oxford, MA., and Susan Hernishin and husband Jay of Bethel Park; her son Jim Protin and wife Trish of Crofton, MD; eight grandchildren Nicole, Dominic and Brian Campana, Katy Mitchell and husband Chris, AJ and Abby Protin, Willow and Cooper Hernishin; her sister Canice Dolan of Pittsburgh and sister-in-law Mary Jane Dolan of Lynchburg, VA. In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by four sisters Eleanor, Sr. Mary Winifred, R.S.M., Helen and Kitty and four brothers Jim, Bill, Bob and Ron. Friends will be received Sunday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 10 am in Mary, Mother of the Church, 7th& Washington Ave., Charleroi, celebrated by the Rev. Gerald Mikonis. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eileen Protin Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o CASDEF, P.O.
