Ronald William Addis, 81 of Charleroi, passed away surrounded by his loving family, Saturday, September 23, 2017. He was born August 16, 1936 in Connellsville, the son of the late Eleanor (Secosky) and William Addis. Mr. Addis graduated from Dunbar High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Bethany College, WV. He was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church Parish in Charleroi. He was retired Superintendent of the U.S. Steel Irvin Works Plant. Known as "Pap" by family, friends and neighbors. His passion for his family, reading, history and his genuine kindness to all he met will never be forgotten. Mr. Addis was predeceased by his former wife and the mother of his four children, Charlotte Lynch (Addis). He leaves behind two daughters’; Monique Newstrom and husband Terry of Charleroi and Elizabeth Keppel and husband Robert of Simsbury, CT and his two sons, Spencer Addis and Jaime Cook of Charleroi and William B. Addis of Charleroi. His seventeen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren brought much joy; Emily Holloway, Cady and Meghan  Newstrom. Justin and Julia Keppel. Brooke, Joyce, Holly, Spencer Jr., Ayla and Charlotte Addis. Joshua, Jacob, Jessica, Liberty and Mary Addis and Jude Jensen. He also leaves a sister, Donna Hayes of Connellsville. In addition to his parents Mr. Addis was preceded in death by his sister Joyce Cunningham. Friends will be received Tuesday, September 26th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday at 1p.m. in Mary, Mother of the Church, 7th & Washington Ave., Charleroi, celebrated by the Rev. Gerald Mikonis. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Charleroi. Online condolence may be sent to the family at www.schrock-hogan.com.
