Terri L. McBurnie Suchy, 51 of Charleroi, passed away Friday, June, 1, 2018 in the H.J. Heinz VA Hospice Center in Aspinwall, PA. She was born October 26, 1966 in Rahway, N.J., the daughter of B. Darlene Spinner McBurnie and D. Richard McBurnie of Long Branch. Terri graduated from California High School class of 1984 with highest honors; received her associate degree from Douglas School of Business and graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. degree. She was a
SRA in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and was deployed from the 911th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, Pittsburgh ARS PA to Kuwait in Nov. 2003-2004 during Operations IRAQI Freedom and Enduring-Freedom and served as a medical services journeyman.
She was a member of Hope Center Church in Belle Vernon, Charleroi American Legion Post 22, Charleroi ALA Unit 22 and a life member of the DAV. Terri was a Westmoreland Co. certified nurse’s-aid and an Air Force Reserve EMT. In addition to her parents, Terri is survived by daughter, Janelle Suchy Carpenter and husband Nick of Charleroi; a son Travis Micjan of Vanleer, TN; a sister Linda McNaney of Monessen; three brothers, Tim McBurnie and wife Lori of Painsville, OH; Richard J. McBurnie and Danny A. McBurnie both of Charleroi; two grandchildren Tyler Micjan of VA; and Liam Carpenter of Charleroi. Terri was preceded in death by grandson Dillan Micjan of VA in 2014. Friends will be received Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Marton. Interment will be private in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA with full military rites performed by Charleroi American Legion Post 22. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations are made to H.J. Heinz VA Hospice Unit, 1010 Delafield Rd., Pgh, PA. 15215.
