Betty Jeanne Holcomb

Betty Jeanne Holcomb, 96, of Smithton, passed away Saturday, October 6. 2018 at home.  She was born September 27, 1922 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Freeman and Ruth Barner Mounsey.  Mrs. Holcomb was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Coal Center for over forty years and the Bible Fellowship Community of West Newton. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and enjoyed spending her time with the ones she loved. Mrs. Holcomb is survived by her daughter Nancy Holcomb and fiancé William Fritz of Sharon; her son Nelson Holcomb and wife Patty of Smithton; five grandchildren: Melanie Moyer and husband David, Monica Shope and husband Steve, Jeff Johnson and wife Carla, James Johnson and wife Stacy, and Patrick Johnson and wife Kelly; fourteen great grandchildren; a niece Roberta Ley and three nephews Bill Darby and wife Ann, Tom Darby and Bill Ley. Betty also left behind “Her Girls,” Tami, Darlene, Paula, Toots, Kim, Lorie and Kelly. We appreciate the love, care, and support from each of these beautiful women. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holcomb was preceded in death by her husband Richard Holcomb, daughter Carol Ann Holcomb, son Nathan David Holcomb, and sister Ruth Darby.  Friends will be received Tuesday October 9th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am in the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Maple Creek Cemetery, Fallowfield Township.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.schrock-hogan.com
