Elaine P. Weiss, 87, of Dunlevy, passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2021. The daughter of the late Thomas and Sophie (Oleksak) Peake, Elaine was born in Charleroi on August 18, 1934. A graduate of Charleroi High School class of 1953; Elaine worked for Bell Telephone and was a licensed cosmetologist.
For 35 years she volunteered for the MVH Auxiliary as Craft Chairwoman, FCSLA (First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association), Christian Mothers and Rosary Maker and was a devout member of Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish, Charleroi location.
Elaine is survived by her loving husband Thomas P. Weiss, on August 6, 2021 the couple celebrated 66 years of marriage together. Daughters Nancy (Rob) Bernstein and Eileen (Matt) Claybaugh. Her granddaughters Brittany and Maria Claybaugh.
In addition to her parents Elaine is preceded in death by her son Sgt. Thomas P. Weiss Jr. and her brother Thomas Peake.
Friends and Family will be received from 5:00 to 8:00pm on Friday October 22, 2021 at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC. (formerly Schrock- Hogan Funeral Home), 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday October 23rd, at St. Andrew Apostle Parish, Charleroi Site, 7th Street and Washington Avenue, Charleroi. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
