Elizabeth “Betty” Kramer of San Dimas, Calif., passed away peacefully in her home on March 14, 2020. Born April 21, 1921, she was the daughter of Sevilla Chester and Harry F. Carson of Charleroi. Betty earned a Bachelor of Science degree in music education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and additional credits from Syracuse University, the University of Connecticut and Grove City College. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Charleroi, where she served as choir director for many years. She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church in Covina, Calif., the National Daughters of the American Revolution, the Pennsylvania Teachers Association and the Charleroi Athena Club. Betty’s music career began in the Midway public schools (four years) and she retired after 24 years from the Charleroi public school district, where she was the original co-producer and vocal coach for the first Charleroi High School musicals. She and her husband Bryce relocated to San Dimas, Calif., in 2000. Betty is survived by her daughter, Suellyn and her husband, Dan Milchovich of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; grandson Daniel and wife Sarah; and great-grandsons, Tyler and Kaden of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; granddaughter Lindsay and husband Jerry Kitchens, and great-grandson Beau and great-granddaughter Kaitlyn of Clovis, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryce; parents, Sevilla and Harry Carson; brother, Thomas C. Carson; sister, Grace I. Carson; and granddaughter, Kelly Milchovich. Betty will be interred next to Bryce at Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. There will be no viewing, and services will be private.
