Floyd Ellis La Rue Jr., 80, of Charleroi, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on August 11th, 2024. Floyd was born on September 21st, 1943 to the late Floyd Sr. and Zelma (Cole) La Rue.
Floyd was a graduate of the Belle Vernon Area High School Class of 1967. Following high school, Floyd served honorably in the United States Army as M-14 Sharpshooter where he was awarded two medals; Army of Occupation Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He was a member of the Charleroi American Legion Post 22, loved to travel including his trips to Florida to visit his sister Mary Beth and his cross country road trip. Floyd loved drinking coffee and dining out with his family, especially with his children of whom will miss him dearly.
Surviving to cherish Floyd’s memory, his sons Floyd La Rue III and Aaron (Kimberly Coulson) La Rue, his daughter Caryn (Joe Jr.) Leone, and his grandchildren; Jessica and Shannon La Rue, Damen Bennett, Kristyn and Gauge Leone, and three (3) great-grandsons. His sister Mary Beth (Tommy) DeBella, eleven (11) nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
In addition to his parents, Floyd is preceded in death by his late wife Marianne La Rue, his daughter Jennifer La Rue, and sister Nancy Lynn.
