Jacqueline "Jackie" Zelinsky Obituary

Jacqueline “Jackie” Ciepley Zelinsky, 86 of Charleroi passed away on September 8th, 2024 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital.  She was born on December 11th, 1937 in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital to the late John and Ann Fendya Ciepley of Monessen.  She graduated from Monessen High School in 1956 and attended the Douglas School of Business.  She was employed by the US Steel Corp. accounting department in Donora and later the Charleroi Area School District as a clerical aide with 36 years of service, retiring in 2012.

 

During her employment at CASD she had the great opportunity to travel to Europe visiting Rome, Switzerland and France with students and teachers.  She loved traveling with her husband Ted during their spare time, and also enjoyed golfing and playing cards with her friends.

 

Jackie was a former member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church and member of The Epiphany of Our Lord Church, both in Monessen.  She was also a member of the Charthene Club for several years.

 

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Ted of 38 years.

 

She is survived by two sons, Michael (Paula) of Aberdeen, Maryland and Wayne (Kristin) of St Petersburg, Florida, along with six grandchildren, Christopher Clawson of Newark, DE, Christina Jack of Lancaster, PA, and Brooke and Taylor Zelinsky, Spencer (Lilly) McDermott and Mitchell (Mikaela) McDermott, all of the Tampa Bay area, a brother Myron (Beatrice) Ciepley and a sister Andrea (the late Bill Hopkins) of Monessen.  Nephews Alan (Jodi) Ciepley, Kevin (Dena) Ciepley and Jason (Erica) Ciepley, niece Sheila (Joe) Panigall, great nieces Morgan, Hailey, Olivia, Payla and Ilona Ciepley and Gianna Panigall, and great nephews Nathan and Gavin Ciepley and Landon Panigall and numerous cousins.

 

Friends and family will be received on Monday, September 16th, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. A Prayer Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, September 17th, 2024 followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at The Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd., Monessen.
