The family of Janis M. Rach, 94, of Fallowfield Township, announce her peaceful passing on June 17th, 2025. Janis was born and raised in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Dorothy (Algeo) Angel.
Janis began her life in the Mon Valley area in 1950 with her husband Ferdie initially in the Monongahela area. Over time, they worked together to become a family of seven as well as owners and operators of multiple family-owned businesses. Most notably to the valley is where “Mrs. Rach” greeted many of the Valley residents to Redds Beach and Pine Cove Swim Club for over 60 Years. All 5 of her children began their working careers at the pool with Mom as our first Boss.
She has been a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, traveling from home to home throughout Pennsylvania and Maryland to share her love, wisdom and grace. Throughout our years, Mom has been our anchor and has guided us through many family and work experiences and she will be sorely missed. Her kindness, caring and strong spirit, allowed her to persevere through her life and to become most importantly a dedicated wife and mother as well as a businesswomen.
Surviving to cherish her memory, are her children: Judy Laughlin, Janis (Richard) Cope, Jill RachBeisel (Daniel) Beisel, Jeffrey (Sandra) Rach, James (Connie) Rach. Known as Belahbe to her Grandchildren: Jennifer, Nicole, Emily, Brian, Julia, Diana, Brendon, Charles, Katie, Emily and Craig. Her Great Grandchildren: Thomas, Vivian, Naudia, Zoey, Sawyer and Roman.
In addition to her parents, Janis is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Ferdinand C. Rach, her grandson Michael Drawl, her sister Shirley Reardon, and her son-in-law Jack Laughlin.
Her viewing will be held at Hogan-Melenyzer Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 226 Fallowfield Avenue Charleroi Pa 15022, on Friday, June 20th, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00pm. A member of St. Andrew the Apostle, 624 Washington Ave, Charleroi, PA 15022, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 21st, 2025 at 10:00am inside the church.
