Jo Ann "Nick" Nicodemus

Jo Ann “Nick” Nicodemus, 88, of Carroll Township, died Tuesday, January 21, 2025.  She was born February 18, 1936 in Martinsburg, WV, the daughter of the late John and Thelma Rice Scarlett.

She graduated from St. Joseph high school and from The Sisters of Holy Ghost College in Martinsburg, WV, where she received her degree as a registered nurse. Jo Ann was a member of the Monongahela Valley Country Club and St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Charleroi. She retired from the former Monongahela Valley Hospital with 40+ years of service as a registered nurse/supervisor.

She is survived by her two sons Darren (Christine) Nicodemus of Bethel Park and Damon (Audrey) Nicodemus of Carroll Township; four grandchildren Derek, Danielle, Rachel and Jessica; seven great grandchildren Bryson, Landon, Eli, Theo, Wyatt, Aria, and Remi.

In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband Donald (Nick) Nicodemus and her brother Norman Scarlett.

Friends will be received Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 2 to 8 p.m. in the HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 30th, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Charleroi. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
