John R. Obitko

John R. Obitko, 69, of Allenport, went to be with the Lord on February 19th, 2025. John was born in North Charleroi on April 12th, 1955 to the late John and Helen C. (Zetko) Obitko.

Catholic by faith; John was a former member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Roscoe and a former member of the California Young Men’s Club, Allenport Rod and Gun Club, and the Roscoe American Legion – Post 801. He was also a lifetime member of the Roscoe Slovak Club.

John loved playing softball and playing golf with his friends and family and loved his golfing trips where he could spend time with his golfing buddies. He loved his family and his friends, of whom will miss him dearly.

Surviving to cherish John’s memory; his beloved wife of 48 years Diane Singosky Obitko, his siblings Judy (John) Sichi, Donald (Angie) Obitko, Robert Obitko and his sister-in-law Kathryn Obitko. His mother-in-law Sara Singosky, his sister-in-law’s Donna (George) Bright and Joyce (Jim) Antoncic, and his brother-in-law Tom (Shannon) Singosky, and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved like his own children.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brother Ronald Obitko.
