John "Jack" Stech
It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of John "Jack" Stech, 80, of Fallowfield Township, on April 3, 2026, following a brief battle with Atypical Parkinsonism. Born on September 14, 1945, in Charleroi, he was the son of the late John L. Stech and Dolores (Stech) Coccari.
Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose warmth and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a proud and loving father to Kimberly (Jay) Roskoph and John Stech.
Known affectionately as "Pappap," he found his greatest joy in his granddaughters, Lindsey and Megan Roskoph, who brought immense happiness to his life. He is also survived by his stepfather, Rudy Coccari; sister-in-law, Patricia (Glenn) Cairns; brother-in-law, Dennis (Judy) Krivacek; as well as several nieces. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by other beloved family member:
Jack was a graduate of Charleroi Area High School, Class of 1964. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was stationed in Alaska as a Military Police officer and served as a personal driver to a Colonel. Upon returning home. he dedicated his career to the coal mining industry, working as a longwall foreman and coordinator.
He was a proud member and past president of the 10th Street AC and an active member of the Roscoe American Legion.
Jack will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his lifelong friendships, and his appreciation for life's simple joys. He especially enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog, Charlie, attending Pittsburgh Steelers games, traveling with friends, and creating lasting memories on vacations with his granddaughters. He also cherished the camaraderie of sharing a Budweiser with close friends.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Havencrest Nursing Home for their compassionate care, as well as to the many friends who offered support and visits in recent months.
