Joseph Pirt Sr. Obituary

Joseph William Pirt Sr., 67, of Donora, passed away peacefully on April 18th, 2022 at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Waynesburg on September 13, 1954, Joe is the son of the late Thomas Myron Pirt & Lois Lorraine (Willard) Pirt.

Joe enjoyed fishing, coloring, drawing, playing with dogs and reading his bible. However, what joe enjoyed most was spending time with his loving family.

Surviving to cherish Joe’s memory; his wife Kathryn Wertz, two sons, Troy (Cheryl) Pirt & Joseph (Chanta) Pirt. Grandchildren; Jessica Simpson, Tationa Pirt, Brianna Simpson, Curtis Wade, Maryah Fleming and Jahsi Pirt. Great-grandchildren Jazale & Jabraela Carlock and Raina Simpson. His fur-friends Spike Gizmo and Gracie. Joe is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  

In addition to his parents Joe is preceded in death by his sister Rosella Brooks.

Friends and family will be received from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Tuesday April 26th, 2022, , at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC. (formerly Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home), 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. Final goodbyes will be held in the funeral home at 8:00 pm on Tuesday.
