Marlene Dubeck Celaschi, 90, of Charleroi, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, with her loving family by her side. Born in Charleroi on March 9, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Joseph C. Dubeck, a World War II veteran, and Marie Rodgers Dubeck.
She was a graduate of Charleroi High School, Class of 1954, and in 1955 married her high school sweetheart, “L.C.” Celaschi.
A born-again Christian, Marlene was devoted to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and faithfully shared her faith and the message of salvation with many. She owned and operated her own dance studio for 37 years. She was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed quilting, reading, and working 1,000-piece puzzles.
Marlene served as chairwoman of the Charleroi Shade Tree Commission and Beautification Program, earning numerous Washington County awards for her efforts. She was also honored as Charleroi Citizen of the Year.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who took great joy in attending the activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter Cathy J. Stark and son-in-law Robert Stark; her son, Larry M. Celaschi; her grandchildren, Jonathan and Brandon Stark, Kristen Howard, Sherri Celaschi, and Ashley (Mike) Anderson; her great-grandchildren, Barrett Stark, and Michael, Noah, and Arabella Anderson; and her sister, Bonnie Dubeck of Florida.
In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, the Honorable Lawrence P. Celaschi, and her sister, Janice M. Peppel. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In accordance with Marlene’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. Interment will take place at Monongahela Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband. Services will be private for immediate family only.
