Nelson P. Holcomb, 69, of Smithton, passed away peacefully on April 16th, 2026 with his family by his side. Born in Mount Pleasant on August 20th, 1956, Nelson was the son of the late Richard and Bette (Mounsey) Holcomb.
A graduate of Charleroi Area High School, Nelson worked as a Tool and Die maker for General Motors for 33 years until his retirement. A member of Bible Fellowship Community Church, Nelson served as a deacon and many other roles including handyman and caretaker. He was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous and found great joy in helping others on the path to recovery having earned over 31 years of sobriety himself.
Nelson could fix anything, whether it was working at one of his son’s homes or making things in his home woodshop, no project was too big or too small for him to handle. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, traveling across the country with his family, camping trips in the mountains or even something as simple as yardwork on his tractor. However, what Nelson enjoyed most was his family, he was a loving husband, supportive father and fantastic grandfather.
Surviving to cherish Nelson's memory; his wife of 27 years, Patricia Holcomb, His three sons; Jeff (Carla) Johnson, Jim (Stacy) Johnson and Pat (Kelly) Johnson. His nine grandchildren; Jaden, Nathan, Caleb, Ryan, Brooklynn, Callie, Blake, Joey and Nellie. His sister Nancy (Bill) Fritz, his cousin Tom Darby, nieces Melanie (David) Moyer and Monica (Steve) Shope and numerous grandnieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Nelson is preceded in death by his sister Carol Holcomb, brother Nathan Holcomb and his cousin Bill Darby.
