Steve William Wamsley

Steve William Wamsley, 58, of Roscoe, PA; known for his infectious smile and laugh, passed away on January 15th, 2026. Steve Wamsley was born on December 27th, 1967. Steve was raised by his mother, the late Margaret Lou (Barnhart) Wamsley. And the son of the late Charles E. Wamsley.

In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his sister Norman Jean Wamsley and father-in-law Jess Williams.

Survived to cherish Steve’s memory; The Love of his life, his best friend and wife Billie Jo Wamsley. His sons; Michael Wamsely (Ashley), Trevor Flaherty and Travis Flaherty (Kristen). His grandchildren; Annabella, Ethan and Paisley – all from the RESA area. And his mother-in-law Joetta Williams of Bentleyville, PA.

Steve’s siblings: Mary Margaret (Jimmy) Coalsen of Glenville, GA; Peggy Anne (Terry) Sharp of Kittery Point, Maine; Charles Edward (Leah) Wamsley of Alicia, PA. His sister-in-law Jessie (Brandon) West of Bentleyville, PA. His niece Mary “Kaite” (Dennis) Wamsley and great-niece Brianna Walker. His nephew Travis Williams (Shanna) and his daughters Ella and Emmy. Along with special friends Debbie and Augie and a large extended family.  

Steve worked for Beck’s & Verscharen in 84 PA, and Doug Simpon Excavating, and for Interstate Paper Company. He was a master of all trades, skilled in mining, towboating, construction, remodeling and landscaping.

Steve lived to the fullest. He could be seen trading stories with locals in Roscoe, fishing in Greene County creeks, floating down the river, listening to rock n’ roll, root hunting and planting his special tomatoes in the garden.

Friends and family will be received from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm on Wednesday, January 21st, 2026, at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022.
