William "Bill" C. Darby

William “Bill” C. Darby, 88, passed away on January 19th, 2025 after a years-long struggle with dementia. Bill was born on December 17th, 1936 and born and raised in Charleroi.

Bill attended Charleroi Area High School and then graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering. He worked in the coating industry for companies in Pittsburgh, Azusa, California and Mundelein, Illinois. After retiring, Bill returned to the Charleroi area to care for his aging parents. He was a 60-year member of the Charleroi-Monongahela Masonic Lodge #337.

Bill is preceded in death by his infant son Bryan Darby, his parents William T. and Ruth M. (Monsey) Darby of Charleroi, his first wife Barbara Darby, and his second wife Anne Darby.

Surviving to cherish Bill’s memory, his brother Tom Darby of San Jose, CA; and his cousins Nelson Holcomb of Smithton and Nancy Holcomb of Sharon.

Friends and family will be received from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025 at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022.
