Ross M. Carson, Jr., 91 of Fallowfield Township, passed away Tuesday, April  5, 2016 in Jefferson Regional  Medical Center, Jefferson Borough.  He was born December 9, 1924 in Charleroi, the son of the late Iva Sutherland and Ross M. Carson Sr.  Mr. Carson was a World War II veteran serving in the US Army in the Pacific.  He was a member and lay speaker with the New Hope Parish United Methodist Church in Roscoe, the Bell Telephone Pioneers Retiree Association and the Yough-A-Mon Camping Club. He retired from the Bell Telephone Co. with 30 years of service. Mr. Carson is survived by his daughter Susan Sosanko of Belle Vernon; his son Thomas Carson and wife Tawny of Fallowfield Township; four grandchildren Robert Carson and wife Michelle, Jennifer Morgan and husband James, Melissa Sosanko and wife Amy, Cary Morris and husband Matt; three great grandchildren Nicholas and Ashlyn Morris and Helen Morgan.  In addition to his parents Mr. Carson is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Betty Ghrist Carson; his son Kenneth Carson along with his two brothers Alex Carson and Harry Clell Carson. Friends will be received Saturday from 2 to 4PM and 6 to 8PM at the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 1PM. in the funeral home with Pastor Brian Carroll officiating.  Interment will follow in the Maple Creek Cemetery with full military rites..  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.schrock-hogan.com.
