Beloved Wife, Mother & Grandmother

Gladys B. Morris, 85 of Fallowfield Township, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 in Monongahela Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. She was born May 1, 1931 in Dunlevy, the daughter of the late Attilio and Eldena Frati Bercini. She worked at the Salvation Army in Pittsburgh after graduation from high school and then at the Washington County Courthouse. On September 26, 1953, she married Michael Morris, her loving husband of 63 years. Mrs. Morris was a member of the Holy Ghost Byzantine Church in Charleroi for over 60 years. She was a major part of pierogi and pasta making team and worked diligently at all church fundraisers. She was also a member of the Mon Valley Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered there for many years. Mrs. Morris loved spending time and cooking for her family, especially her five grandchildren who were her greatest pride and joy. Polka music and dancing were a great love of hers; mainly her son and daughter in law's various bands over the years. She was an excellent cook and baker and was known for her homemade halupki, raviolis and many exceptional cookies. Being a generous soul, she was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need whether by her 'meals on wheels', driving to appointments or just listening for hours when someone had a problem. Although she is sadly missed by those left behind, they are thankful that her suffering is over and she is reunited with all her family and friends that have gone before. She is survived by her husband Michael Morris; her son David Morris and wife Stacey of Fallowfield Township; her daughter Melanie Dunahay and husband Raymond of Washington; her sister Dorothy Collins and husband Ronald of Fallowfield Township; five grandchildren; Dana Salotti and husband Ryan, brothers Jeffrey, Michael and Derek Douylliez and Kala Porter and husband Matt. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 226 Falllowfield Ave., Charleroi. Funeral Devine Liturgy will be held on Friday at 11a.m. in the Holy Ghost Byzantine Church in Charleroi. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park Carroll Township.
