Kenneth G. Samoda, 89 of Belle Vernon, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 in Nevaeh Cove Personal Care Home, Charleroi.  He was born September 7, 1926 in New Kensington, the son of the late Andrew  and Fronie Samoda.  Mr. Samoda was a veteran serving in the US Army during World War II.  He was a member of the Library Baptist Church in Finleyville, the Sweet Sixties and the Mon Valley Dartball League.  He retired from the US Steel Irvin Works Plant.  Mr. Samoda is survived by his two daughters Deborah Watts and husband James of Fallowfield Township and Charlotte Kutcy of Belle Vernon; his son Ken Samoda and wife Nikki of Fallowfield Township; one brother Eugene “Smokie” Samoda  of Charleroi; twelve grandchildren Becky Watts, Josh Watts and wife Shannon, Esther Fries and husband Dan, Chrissy McKees and husband Dan, Lisa Zadrozny and husband Jason, Cheri Brazzon and husband Stan, Jimmy Kutcy, Heather Moody and husband Devon, Jen Samoda, Haley King and husband Tyler, Jeremy Shannon and Aaron Shannon;  nineteen great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents Mr. Samoda is preceded in death by his wife Jean Henry Samoda; two sisters an infant sister Vivian Samoda and Verna Samoda and a brother Frances Samoda.  Friends will be received Wednesday from 1 to 3p.m. and 6 to 8p.m. in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10a.m. with Pastor Josh Watts officiating.  Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park with full military rites.  In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Library Baptist Church, Walter Long Road, Finleyville, PA.  online condolences may be sent to the family at www.schrock-hogan.com.
